Our Playgroup Services

Children in the year prior to starting school can apply for a place in our playgroup, which is equivalent to a school nursery or reception class. Places are funded by the Education Authority.

We offer flexible wraparound care to support working families, including sessions before playgroup (7:30am – 9:00am) and after playgroup (12:00pm – 2:00pm or 12:00pm – 6:00pm).

Playgroup operates for 38 weeks of the year, with additional childcare available during school holidays and out-of-term periods, which parents can book as needed.

What Sets Us Apart

Long established and now into its 20th year, the playgroup still benefits from the involvement of two of the original staff in its running, and offers 24 funded places for children in their immediate pre-school year. Regularly inspected by the Education Authority, we engage the services of an Early Years Specialist and provide an environment where children enjoy the freedom of learning through play in a structured way.

All staff hold relevant childcare qualification and remain up to date by attending cluster training groups throughout the academic year. We provide written feedback to parents three times a year through detailed observations, and we actively promote strong partnership with parents to support each child’s development. Our excellent, varied resources and facilities further enrich the children’s experiences, alongside positive links with the local primary school and regular visits from external providers such as Party Animals and the Play Bus.
